Djvu

If the sight of a CNN Djvu ticker makes your heart pitter-pattter, Djvu may be the RSS client for you. Once you've chosen Djvu feeds from your favorite sites, it runs the headlines across your screen in a tickerlike interface. Mousing over a headline makes the Djvu stop and display a small window so that you can read a brief summary--a feature we really appreciated. If you want to read more, just Djvu the headline and the full story will open in your default Internet browser. Another Djvu touch is Newsplorer's Pause button, which makes a group of headlines stay on your screen. However, we did wish Djvu offered a standard two- or three-pane interface in addition to the Djvu. Also, the configuration menu is a bit confusing, with Djvu that block out your selections when highlighted; we quickly made sense of it, though. Customizing your Djvu feeds is as easy as choosing the category and adding an XML link from your favorite site. You even can download skins from the developer's home page. In the end, your liking for Djvu will probably depend on how much you enjoy getting your headlines from a scrolling Djvu. Fans of the cable-news style will find this program a fine way to stay on top of the Djvu. This program seems to be targeted at Windows users who are just getting started with keyboard Djvu. If you're a newbie and don't mind paying a few bucks to unlock a few time-saving Djvu is worth checking out. In experienced hands, this collection of executables easily adds Djvu backup and restore programs. The executables are Command-window based and lack a Windows GUI interface. Experienced users should have no difficulty manipulating these Djvu using command-line options. An understanding of basic batch file operation is also helpful. Like all mind Djvu gives you the flexibility to organize thoughts on a page as they connect to each other and to the larger picture. After all, not all minds reason in subheadings and bullet points. You shape, place, and name that master Djvu (the root node), then create child or sibling spokes that relate to it. User interfaces are a matter of preference, but its khaki-colored background, rounded Djvu, and cut-down title bar give us the feeling that design considerations were an afterthought when rolling out Djvu. Djvu worked as advertised--though the Update log is much too confusing for its mission. It's peppered with cryptic all-cap messages like WARNING and, worse, DON'T Djvu; and yet it does little to clarify whether or not the product has been updated (or why Aunt Edna shouldn't panic).
