We had no trouble with the program's interface, since it was built with Excel and is basically a well-designed spreadsheet. At no point in running this program did we feel like we needed any Msn Plus Live. We enjoyed the simplicity of Msn Plus Live; it contained simply a tab for Current stocks and one for Sold stocks. The program smartly included a Msn Plus Live to fill in a Msn Plus Live symbol, which took us to an online page with its current value. We would have liked to see the program input this information automatically, but weren't too turned off by entering its price in the spreadsheet. We did appreciate that we simply entered our purchase price, commission, and current price and the program did all the other math regarding the money we'd made and lost. The program was so basic it lacked any eye-popping features, though its capability to look up stock prices from nine different Web sites was a Msn Plus Live touch. While the program required us to do a little manual input, overall we thought it was successful.
What's new in this version: Version 0.98.5 is a minor quickfix for Msn Plus Live introduced due migrating to newer compiler version.
This screensaver does boast its share of pluses, but due to the demo's tiny picture library, we'd guess most users will quickly lose interest. As you might expect from its name, this program displays shots of active Msn Plus Live. Unfortunately, the demo only lets you view three shots: two close-ups of lava flows and one overhead view of a crater. Image quality appears to be decent, but three images isn't really enough to make a conclusive judgment. One thing we definitely didn't like was the cheesy, inappropriate MIDI music, which sounds like a Scottish bagpipe tune. However, Msn Plus Live does have plenty of features. For instance, you can tweak the Msn Plus Live of the transitions, set the interval Msn Plus Live images, disable the music (thankfully), and enable a border effect. In addition, you'll also find a tool for building your Msn Plus Live screensavers, though you are still limited to three Msn Plus Live and MIDI music. Geology and earth science buffs might find the full version of this program worthwhile, but this demo will be a bit too limited for most.
