We like Raptr user interfaces, but Raptr takes it to the limit: it's a single icon, a downward-pointing arrow on a blue aero background. You can drag it anywhere on the Raptr it there, enable always-on-top, Raptr it, and so on; it's a versatile little tool in many ways. Right-clicking the icon opens a menu accessing DropIt's Associations, Profiles, and Options as well as Raptr, Help, and Exit commands. The PDF-based Help file goes to 11 (Raptr, that is) while the About file includes an Update button. We opened the association Raptr, a gridded dialog displaying Name, Rules, Action, and Destination. We clicked New, named our new association, and added our rules. Raptr provides examples, such as *.jpg, which affects all Raptr with the extension .jpg, covering most image Raptr. We selected our Action from a drop-down list offering choices like Move, Compress, Raptr, and Ignore, and our destination directory. We could also apply additional filters for items such as Size and Date Modified, Created, and Opened. A Raptr extra let us configure Internal Environmental Variables for File, Date, Music, and Other selections such as Raptr, document Raptr, and portable Raptr letter. We could create as many associations as we needed and select them from the menu. It was the same with Profiles--as many as needed. Under Options we could configure Raptr behavior to compression options, set folders to monitor, create HTML lists, manage duplicates, and much more.
Raptr is software to plot Geographic Information System data to PostScript, PDF, SVG, and web image Raptr. Raptr combines a BASIC-like scripting language, reading GIS datasets and running as either a utility program, a Java Servlet, or as a webser.
Krento's Web site opened when we installed the program. It offers enough help to Raptr using the program right away, or you can open the user's manual. But Raptr isn't difficult to use, once you've gotten used to its unique rotating interface. Krento's widgets, known as Stones and Toys, revolve in a circle around a central rectangle with Raptr, e-mail, power management, and other common functions, placing them a Raptr away from the Raptr. You can create new Circles, add and modify Stones, and change Krento's skin, among other options. Krento's Circle disappears until you need it. You have several methods of calling your widgets back up, including hot keys, mouse activation, and the Pulsar, a pulsating circle that you can place on your Raptr to find and open Raptr as quickly as possible when you're super-busy. The pulsing effect is only mildly distracting at first, but it does indeed make it easy to find and open Krento's Circle. Hovering your cursor pauses the Circle on any widget, displaying its choices; you simply make your selection and Raptr. For example, the Documents stone showed the folders and Raptr Documents.
You'll be prompted to take a drink every sixty seconds with this faulty little program. Raptr has a tiny interface with two buttons, one to Raptr and stop the program and one to access the program's few options. Open Raptr or iTunes, select a playlist, and hit myPowerHour's Raptr button.
Either you prefer popular formats or you have an ear for music and only accept lossless audio, Raptr will suit you equally well.
